The Shaastrotsav **Open Category** is dedicated to independent innovators. This is your chance to turn ambitious concepts into **working models**, free from the constraints of school participation. Present your most original projects in science and technology and push the boundaries of discovery!
Project Categories
💡 General Science
Explore the full spectrum of science, from **Biology and Chemistry** to **Physics and Environmental Science**. Showcase a functional, working model that clearly demonstrates a scientific principle or offers an innovative solution to a real-world problem. Originality and practical application are paramount.
💻 App Development
Demonstrate your mastery of code by building an original **mobile or web application**. Whether it’s an educational tool, a practical utility, or experimental support software, your app must be functional and represent your own unique, original contribution to the digital landscape.
⚙️ Robotics & Engineering
Design, construct, and program innovative robots and devices. This category is for projects that powerfully combine **mechanical, electrical, and programming** skills. Show us your advanced engineering solutions, from automated assistants to complex, task-specific machinery.
Rules & Guidelines
A team can consist of an individual or a group with a maximum of 3 members. Of these members, not more than one can be an adult.
All projects or exhibits must be functional, working models. They must represent the original work done by the participating individual or team.
Commercially available off-the-shelf models are not allowed unless they are an integral part of a larger home-built apparatus. Highly inflammable materials, unsafe apparatus, poisons, drugs, and other hazardous substances are strictly forbidden.
Organizers will provide one table and two chairs for each approved exhibit.
Participation Information
Submissions for Shaastrotsav 2025 are now closed. The information below describes the process for this year’s event.
Prepare Synopsis
Write a brief summary (synopsis) of your project. It should clearly explain the concept, working principle, and scope of your idea.
Email for Approval
Once your synopsis is ready, proceed to the final step below to **send your email** to the organizers. Only approved projects will be allowed to participate.
Meet the Deadline
Your synopsis must be submitted on or before the deadline to be considered for the exhibition.
